Since inception, Culinaire has provided a place for Victorians to taste an abundance of our most unique eateries and celebrated breweries, wineries, cider makers and cocktail bars - all under one roof.
When we started, we thought about creating an environment where our guests could try food and beverages from numerous places, learn about what they were tasting, appreciate where it came from, understand why it was made that way, and most importantly, discover and remember these businesses so they can visit them again and again. We wanted an event that exposed Victorians to the best food and drink we have to offer and a place where restaurants and purveyors had the chance to truly connect with locals and earn their business, all the while supporting local culinary schools and organizations associated with the industry.
Today, Culinaire is an event where restaurants and purveyors can demonstrate their product to those who have a love for great food and beverage. It is an opportunity to try new flavours and restaurants as well as explore cooking techniques and dishes you may have never known about. Culinaire is a food experience for all: from the restaurant novice to the most refined foodie, for those who will eat anything and to those who want to try it for the first time. Culinaire welcomes you to a friendly and hospitable environment to taste the great cuisine and beverages our region produces. We are proud to support local non-profit organizations such as the Camosun College Culinary Arts Program, Vancouver Island University and the Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia. With more than 20 scholarships and bursaries awarded so far, Culinaire will continue to support students and programs associated with the Culinary industry on Vancouver Island.
